Fannin County, Texas — The aerial photography of Mike Porter on May 29, 2020 gives perspective to how the location of 16,641-acre Bois d’Arc Lake will relate to Lake Bonham, Coffee Mill Lake and Lake Crockett.
It is important to note that North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) is not currently impounding, or capturing water at Bois d’Arc Lake. Water from Bois d’Arc Creek is currently flowing into the raw water intake structure, under the dam embankment through two 78-inch pipes and being diverted back into Bois d’Arc Creek on the north side of the embankment.
NTMWD expects to close the gates on the intake structure and begin impounding water at the end of the year.
