The City of Bonham is working daily to prepare for the 2016 Quilt Hop.
July 29th and 30th are the dates to remember. This year we are very fortunate to have a demo scheduled for the use of the The AccuQuilt GO Fabric Cutter. This cutter has the quilting community all a buzz with it’s faster and easier alternative to scissors or rotary cutting tools. It is said to make cutting of intricate patterns 90% faster. Annette Moss who is coming to be with us all the way from Arkansas will give this demonstration Friday, July 29th in the afternoon. One of the problems with using an automatic cutter is the amount of scraps left after cutting. Material is expensive, so scraps need to be used in some way. Her demo will show how to cut these scraps that are left from the original cutting into more quilt pieces. Annette will also be a vendor at the Quilt Hop in the Bonham Civic Center Building.
The quilts will be displayed at the following locations: Bonham Visitors Information Center, Fannin County Museum of History, Fannin County Historical Commission, Bonham Public Library, Bonham Senior Center, Creative Arts Center, Bonham Civic Center (old Armory), Sam Rayburn Library and Museum, Sam Rayburn House Museum and new to the Quilt Hop this year is the Saint Mark, Episcopal Church in downtown Honey Grove.
Don’t forget to drive the Quilt Barn Trail; maps are available to guide you along the way.
If you have a quilt that you would like to display please contact the Bonham Visitor Center 903-583-9830 or visit us at 327 N. Main Street, Bonham. Need more information, a quilt display form (click here), or vendor form (click here).
