Bonham State Park

Constructed in the early 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps and sitting on 261-acres of rolling prairies, and woodlands, Bonham State Park park is located in Fannin County. Just an hour northeast of Dallas-Ft Worth, it’s an easy drive to escape to the country. Centered around a beautiful 65-acre lake where you can enjoy swimming and fishing in the man-made lake, built in 1935.  You can stay and picknick a few hours or enjoy a weekend in a campsite or one of the cabins for rent. Host a family reunion or event at the event center or pavilion. Enjoy the serenity while you walk along one of the many hiking trails, go mountain biking or fish from the fishing pier. Want to get out on the water? Well, you can rent a paddle boat, kayak or canoe from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, weather permitting.
